Dear Alumini,

Happy New Year 2015 !!

IJOHS is the expression of the inspiring and challenging clinical work; top academicians, researchers and dental practitioners are doing wherever they are on the globe.

Two years back when our Bapuji Dental College Alumni and our beloved Principal and President Dr. K. Sadashiva Shetty entrusted me with the Editorial responsibility, I was reminded of an old saying- 'it took three months to learn a job and six months to be bored by it'. I took this assessment to heart, but circumstance and timing proved otherwise for me. From the outset, my role of selecting compelling topics, identifying authors, getting indexed with a renowned database and making it a premier journal became a true labor of love. I was constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ideas to keep IJOHS fresh and on the cutting edge. It set me to develop an infrastructure for the journal which would not leave me or future editors in the same position again.

As I step down, I take pride in knowing that I am hopeful that everyone awaits with pleasant anticipation IJOHS as the symbol of your alumni association. Wishing all the very best for the new Editorial Team under Dr.Gayathri G.V.; who has always supported and guided throughout these 2 years.

To the authors: You have my respect and admiration. When the review process was not as smooth as you desired or the outcome not as pleasant, I shared your disappointment. You have my gratitude for enhancing our collective knowledge and understanding.

To the Editorial Board: Your reviews, advice, and counsel have been invaluable. You handled each issue as it arose with professional correctness, personal courtesy, and good humor. Thank you.

To the support staff: Without you, no issue would ever have been published.

And to you, the readers of IJOHS: Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. I sincerely trust that we have served you well.
