Dear Alumnus,
Everyone has a purpose in life… a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
–Deepak Chopra
I feel that the above quote is appropriate for all the health professionals, particularly the dentists. The present scenario of dentistry is not merely providing dental treatment but also playing an important role in social renovation through educating the society regarding the harmful effects of tobacco, empowering the teachers to educate children on oral health through teacher training programs, and so on. An awareness regarding the impact of oral health on general health has been established well in the society.
India is emerging as one of the best and most affordable dental healthcare destinations of the world. Keeping in mind that there is a growing demand for the latest dental procedures, the practice of dentistry needs to be shaped with the help of latest technological devices to improve the levels of treatment and patient comfort.
Dental practitioners in addition to educators and researchers need to be abreast with the recent advancements in the fields of dentistry. In this regard, various activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and continuing education programs will improve clinical practice, patient care, and outcomes with new innovations and ideas.
I wish all my alumni best of luck in their endeavor by saying,
”We are not in it for income; we are in it for outcome.”
More apt for a dentist.
