I deem it a pleasure and honor to pen down the presidential address for the very first time since resuming office. At the outset, I would like to thank all members who have put their faith in me to lead as we continue this journey of learning collectively.
We could all agree that we are men and women of science and believe that the work we carry out should reflect on its highest quality, thus serving as a guiding light to our students to abide by the scientific principles while conducting research whether in a laboratory or chairside. We are in a unique position as dental professionals and academicians to apply our scientific knowledge into our daily clinical practice, which in turn would ultimately benefit in serving the larger interest of the community. Hence, the goal of this journal is to bring these two aspects together and to make scientific contributions better aimed at serving the human society.
Research is often construed these days as laborious scientific writing. It is as much reporting as it is innovating. I urge you to revive your interest in thinking out of the box, getting creative with every new technique that you learn or acquire, only to be backed by sound scientific expertise. The journal serves as a platform to share your experiments and new research findings and broadens learning across specialties. Research published can be used as future reference points in interdisciplinary learning forums. No scientific work is complete until it has been critically analyzed and debated. The journal features scientific articles, case reports, literature reviews, clinical techniques, and short communications which are peer reviewed by a team of accomplished individuals who will be earmarked for this purpose. This journal is designed so that the students get ample opportunities to publish in wider areas of their interests. I encourage you to utilize the opportunity and set high standards to better yourselves in achieving our goals at both innovation and its writing.
From our side, we are working tirelessly to advance the art and science of dentistry to the next level. We aim to meet and set benchmarks in order to obtain both national and international accreditation. This dream can be realized only with honest and dedicated involvement of every one of us, staff, and students alike. I trust that you will all support my team and me in these efforts.
Let us all join hands and begin the process of innovation in achieving new heights, going forwards.
